Enrolment Process

Note: As of 29 July 2021, our enrolment process has been simplified to remove the Registration of Interest form. To apply for enrolment, please go to step 2 and submit an Application for Enrolment form.

Interested in exploring our College further for your child? There are four easy steps...

1. Attend an Orientation Walk or enquire

If you are interested in viewing the College, we invite you to register and join us for an Orientation Walk.

We also welcome your enquiry via email, phone or our online enquiry form

P: 08 8372 3200
E: enrol@mercedes.catholic.edu.au

2. Apply for enrolment online

The enrolment process commences two years prior to entry. We invite you to submit an Application for Enrolment form online as soon as possible.

3. A position may be offered

If your application is successful, we will send you an Offer of Position. You will then need to:

  • Sign and return your Acceptance of Enrolment.
  • Provide us with a Confirmation Fee, a portion of which will be credited to your first fee account. Should your child’s enrolment be cancelled prior to commencement, the full Confirmation Fee payment is non-refundable.

Once you have accepted a position, an interview will be organised for you and your child. This is part of your child’s transition into the College and allows us all to get to know one another better and answer any additional questions you may have.

4. Commencement

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to the Mercedes College community. Prior to commencement, we will be in touch with all the information you need to start at Mercedes.

In Term 4, we invite all of our students commencing the following year to join us for Orientation Day. This is a great opportunity to begin building relationships with teachers and peers, as students get to know the College.

Enrolment Policy

The Enrolment Priority Criteria is used in situations where demand exceeds the number of available enrolment positions. The enrolment of students at Mercedes College is the responsibility of the Principal, and in applying the criteria, the Principal will use their discretion in making the final decision.

As a Catholic school, it is the expectation of the College that all families in the following selection criteria, are supportive of the ethos and philosophy it upholds. Priority is given to:

  • Siblings of children already enrolled at the College
  • Children of Mercedes old scholars
  • Children of Catholic families (those who have attended a regional parish school will have some priority)
  • Children of denominations other than Catholic, who have attended a regional parish school
  • Children of families of other denominations.

Completion of an Application for Enrolment form does not guarantee a position within the College.
