Accreditation With globally recognised accreditation and rigorous quality assurance as a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), you can trust that Mercedes College upholds the highest educational standards.

CIS Accreditation drives continuous improvement, ensuring we continue demonstrating delivery of a high quality international education. It also synchronises the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme evaluation process of whole-school evaluation and accreditation.

This accreditation confers an international recognition to stakeholders worldwide, including prospective families, educational leaders and teachers, universities, embassies, other government departments, and global companies and organisations.

In 2005, we became a CIS Member, following a comprehensive self-study, and rigorous evaluations by Visiting Teams of CIS representatives. The Accreditation is reviewed every five years and was last completed in 2024.

The process requires an assessment against a number of internationally recognised standards. Our culture, governance, leadership, financial practices, commitment to internationalism, human relations, student wellbeing programmess, co-curricular activities, staff professional support and policies, as well as risk control practices are analysed and compared to world standards.

The CIS Visiting Team who led this accreditation process in 2024 comprised educators from local, national and international settings and they provided wonderful insights into what we are doing well and areas where we can further improve. Overall, the report was positive, providing an excellent foundation for us to continuously develop, making our best better.
