The goal of creating a Mercedes community of mutual support is focussed around the person of Jesus and His Church.

Our Catholic Community

At Mercedes, we believe that parents are the primary educators of their children in their Faith by providing a home where there is love, acceptance and encouragement.

The College aims to build on that education by providing opportunities for our students to live their faith, value reflection and prayer, and commit to a curriculum which will help provide meaning in their lives.

Religion is an integral aspect of school life. All classes have prayer on a daily basis. Reception – Year 9 students attend class masses and Years 10 – 12 students attend year level masses during the term. All year levels participate in regular Religious Education classes.

The religious life of the College community, and the commitment to Christian service, are also evident in the numerous activities the College provides for service both within and outside the Mercedes College community.

The students have an opportunity to embrace the Mercy Keys in all their experiences at the College. In the process, they embrace the desire of Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, that we  “…strive to do ordinary thing extraordinarily well.”
