Our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care programmes provide a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment where children can relax, play, and thrive outside of school hours.

Mercedes College offers an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care programme for its students.

Overseen by our Head of Junior School, these programmes support families requiring additional supervision time for Junior School students during the school term, as well as during our holiday breaks.

Supervised homework facilities are also available for Middle and Senior School students, who can access our Library and Senior Study from 8.00am and until 5.00pm.

Before and after school, children from our Junior School enjoy a balance of structured activities and free play, giving them the chance to unwind after a busy school day or start the morning calmly and confidently.

Our caring and qualified educators support each child’s interests, friendships, and wellbeing, creating a space that truly feels like a second home.

During school holidays, our Vacation Care program comes alive with exciting themed days, creative activities, games, and special experiences designed to keep children engaged. Whether it’s arts and crafts, sports, cooking, outdoor adventures, or quiet time to recharge, there’s something for everyone.

At the heart of our programmes is a strong focus on fun, inclusion, and care. We value every child as an individual and work closely with families to ensure children feel safe, supported, and happy while they learn, play, and grow together.

For our older students in Middle and Senior school – we provide supervised homework time in our Library, from 8.00am to 5.00pm each day during Term.

The Mercedes College OSHC service is available from 7.20am and until 6.00pm every school day. It also provides supervision for days of early dismissal, and Pupil Free Days.

Families have the option of registering for permanent or casual bookings based on their individual needs.

Students receive breakfast and after-school snacks, and there are supervised homework clubs and other engaging activities for everyone.

This is a welcoming experience for some of our younger students, to spend time meeting new friends, enjoying some play time after school, or catching up on school work, in a safe and familiar environment.

Our OSHC team also coordinates a varied and engaging programme of activities, excursions, and guest visits during all school holidays, with a short break over Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Vacation Care programmes typically combine a range of activities that incorporate physical pursuits, scientific exploration, arts and crafts, environmental care, friendly competition, and live entertainment.

In addition to special events and activities, students utilising Vacation Care have access to all of the usual OSHC resources and supervised outdoor play.

The service operates from 7.20am to 6.00pm each day excluding public holidays.
