International Student Programme and Curriculum Senior School students at Mercedes College can choose to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) or the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

Both of these pathways provide excellent curriculums and enables graduating students to apply for entrance to universities in Australia and around the world including the USA and UK.

Academic Excellence

At Mercedes College we provide students with a world-class education. As a leader in delivering the International Baccalaureate (IB) our students have the choice between the IB Diploma in Year 11 and Year 12 or completing the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

As a high academic achievement school, we strive for excellence, and we are very proud of the high success rates attained. More than 90 per cent of graduating students achieve tertiary entrance in a discipline of their choice. Most go on to university studies in Engineering, Medicine, Law, Commerce, Economics, Computer Science and Teaching.

Mercedes College students study fulltime with 25 hours of staff/student contact time per week for 40 weeks each academic year. The school year is divided into four terms with the main holiday break during December and January. Term 1 starts in late January/early February. Classes start at 8.35am and finish at 3.25pm Monday to Friday.

Our students flourish academically and as individuals, with a focus on personal growth and development beyond scholastic achievement alone. Students at Mercedes College learn who they are, understand their strengths, what inspires them and how they learn best.
